On 7th June 2025, the Guwahati City Branch of Assam State Chapter of Association of Surgeons of India in collaboration with Seneh, a charitable home for destitute elderly women, organized a comprehensive health camp.
Held within the warm and welcoming premises of Seneh, the camp was a heartfelt initiative that brought together a team of experienced surgeons, medical officers, and volunteers under the banner of community service as part of our out reach during National Surgeons Week. The primary focus was on geriatric health.
More than 30 residents underwent detailed clinical evaluation. Basic investigations were carried out on-site. In addition to general health checkups, medication review, and counseling were also provided.
The camp reflected the spirit of compassion and social responsibility that both ASI and Seneh stand for. Beyond medicine, the event was filled with moments of connection, conversation, and care — a reminder that healing is not just about treatment, but about presence and empathy.
The Association of Surgeons of Assam remains committed to extending its expertise beyond operation theatres and into the hearts of the communities it serves. This camp was another small step in that direction.
